career center students; preparing today's students for tomorrows careers

Career Center Expectations

All Career Center classes strive to prepare students for adult life by teaching skills and attitudes/behaviors that are valued in the workplace. The six behavior categories listed below are stressed and graded in all Career Center classes. Each instructor reviews these behaviors with students at the start of the year, and has curriculum activities to instruct and support students in their development.

A grade is assigned in each of our classes using the Career Center Expectations rubric. Teachers may choose to have student’s self-grade and then review and/or make corrections, if needed. Some teachers score students directly themselves in these areas. Instructors determine the percentage of points the Career Center Expectations count for in each grading period; they can account for 15% to 25% of the grade.
