ServSafe

In cooperation with the Columbia/Boone County Health Department, the Professional & Community Education program of Columbia Area Career Center offers the ServSafe® Sanitation Training Course. This course meets the manager training required by the Columbia/Boone County Health Code. Managers must pass either the national or local exam to meet the requirements of the code. The local exam is only recognized by the Columbia/Boone County Health Department. Either certification is valid for five years.

ServSafe® Essentials, 5th Edition, the required textbook, is available upon registration. Read and study the text prior to class - the pace of the one-day session is rapid and the test is administered at the end of the class. Please be certain to bring your text to class! If you have access to the text, you do not need to purchase another.

Policies: Payment options include MasterCard and Visa, cash or check. Businesses will be invoiced upon request. Class registrations may be transferred from one employee to another and/or changed to a later class date. Please notify our office before the scheduled class with changes. After two transfers or class date changes, a $50 administrative fee will be charged for any further changes. Recertification and exam retakes will be charged the same amount as a regular class. Online exam proctor fee must be paid in advance of test date and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
