Medical Coding

Our Medical Billing program will quickly and conveniently prepare you for one of the fastest growing careers with an earning potential up to $40/hr. Medical coders and billers translate records into standardized codes used to bill patients and are eligible for positions in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, medical labs, insurance companies, and a variety of other healthcare facilities. Our 18-month program is limited to 18 students per class.

Prerequisites for admission to the Professional Medical Coding Program include:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of entire application packet (including application fee which covers the 2 assessment exams and the prerequisite course titled Exploring Medical Coding, Letter of Intent, and two (2) letters of recommendation)
  • Health Occupations Aptitude assessment
  • Basic computer skills/keyboarding assessment
  • Successful completion of the required Exploring Medial Coding class
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze detailed information
Current class running November 2011 to April 2013. New class to begin in 2013.
